It’s that time of the year. Summer season is coming up and so is vacation. But what is the best place to have an exciting and thrilling vacation? One word, beaches. If you’re in Hawaii and you’re not going to the beaches, you’re missing out a lot. I have compiled a list of the best beaches in Maui for families that will give you all the information that you need.

Maui offers a lot of great things. From snorkeling trips, hiking, exploring the lush tropical forests and of course their iconic beaches. From the powdery white sand beaches in Kaanapali to the perfect powdery black sand at Black Sand Beach in Waianapanapa State Park, Maui arguably has the best beaches in all of Hawaii.

Choose the Best Beach in Maui for YOU

The beaches in Maui are spread up to 30 miles which provides you with a myriad of options. But it’s all about what you prefer. Do you want to go on a honeymoon? Is it a family trip? Or do you just want to go on a surf trip all the way to the north shore of Maui? This list includes everything you need to know about the best beaches in Maui. Without further ado, I’m going to go straight into telling you guys and gals about the most amazing and thrilling beaches in Maui for you to choose from. Let’s start with one my personal favorites…

Secret Cove Beach

Probably my #1 stop for Things To Do in Kihei and Wailea, this beach is a must see during sunset. It isn’t the best for swimming or snorkeling as the waves crash into the coral. But for sheer beauty, this location is one of the most beautiful in all of Hawaii. The beach is ideal for sunset, the waters lull you into a romantic trance, and the sunset gives you a chance to savor the feeling of the beautiful scenery.

Makena Beach State Park

Makena Beach State Park of Maui consists of three entrances and it encapsulates two beaches – Little Beach and Big Beach. Regardless of which beach you choose, you will always be pleased with your choice. Do you know what the kicker here is? This beach is the most photographed in Maui because of its gorgeousness and aesthetic views. So, if you are crazy about the scenery and pleasant views, this is your place. But be aware of the rogue and vicious waves. It is located on the south of Maui with exotic picnic areas.

Baldwin Beach Park

This place remains packed, all the time. Baldwin Beach Park is one of the most frequently visited beaches in Maui. This is primarily because it offers all the facilities to the people such as public restrooms, picnic areas, showers, etc. On the other hand, it encapsulates a humongous parking lot that is people’s preference. People love large spaces where they can park their cars easily, it’s definitely a win. Plus, it’s a great place for your kids to have fun.

Honolua Bay

The best part is probably the hike to access it, which we talked about in our last article on The Best Snorkeling Spots in Maui (and yes, Honolua Bay is featured).

If you are a surfer then this is your beach. Honolua Bay is famous for surfing and snorkeling. The sparkling water of this beach coupled with the soothing Maui sunshine, this beach can be the best place for you to relax. Among the Hawaiian Islands, Honolua Bay is one of the most vibrant and colorful beaches. That is why it became one of the best beaches for swimming in Maui.

Palauea (White Rock)

Here’s the interesting part, if you are planning a wedding then Palauea is the right pick for you. The appealing scenery, the beautiful flowers, and perfect beachy waves will make your day a lot more special than it already is. Don’t worry, those of you who are not planning a wedding can still come to this beach and wear off all the tension and stress of the previous months, weeks, or days. It is located to the south of Maui and the locals of south Maui frequently visit this beach because of its beauty and splendor.

Kapalua Bay

I think we have a winner here because this beach was genuinely ranked as the best beach in Maui by Conde Nast’s publication. It gets better because, in 1991, this beach was ranked as the Best beach in America by Travel Channel. Kapalua Bay is dominated by Kapalua resort but it is also open for business. It is located to the west of Maui and it offers a variety of facilities. But do you know the best part? Sea turtles! Who doesn’t love green Hawaiian sea turtles? Because of this, Kapalua Bay is also known as the best beach in Maui to see turtles.

Hamoa Beach

This beach, located to the east of Maui, provides the most phenomenal crescent view to the eyes. If you are searching for calm aloha vibes, this is your place. However, this place has collaborated with Travaasa Hana Hotel, so there may be some of the facilities that are only restricted to the guests staying in the hotel. But this beach also provides you with the option of camping. Amazing, right? Who would want to stay in the hotel when you can stay the night under the stars? It’s like a dream come true. It’s relaxing, soothing, and on top of all this, memorable. Other than this, you can swim, dive, snorkel, arrange a picnic, and soak the tranquilizing sunshine, all on this best beach in Maui, Hawaii.

What’s the Bottom Line?

The Hawaiian islands are known for their incredible beaches. And Maui’s unique flavor and beautiful landscape has made it a travel and sightseeing destination of the first choice worldwide. Maui is the top spot for tourism because of its stunning landscape, pristine beaches, friendly inhabitants and rich culture. As one of the top tourist destinations, Maui is the perfect place for your vacation. There, you get to enjoy a truly romantic and intimate experience and get a lot for your money with beautiful beaches and many different activities. A number of beaches offer spectacular and ideal shoreline and are the ideal choice for vacationers too.

All of the beaches that I’ve mentioned are exotic, gorgeous, and beautiful. Whatever you choose, I assure you that you will have a memorable and simply fantastic time. Pick one of these beaches, mark your calendar, and start packing your bags because Maui is waiting for you.
